“What? I cannot believe you did that!” Stella was surprised after I told her everything that had happened that night. She was all ears as I told her every detail of my moment with Stephen — well, except for the most sensitive parts, you know.
“I really don’t know why,”
“You didn’t even ask for his number or where he lives!” Stella exclaimed.
I just shrugged my shoulders off and sipped my coffee. The macchiato is the best thing I had this morning.
Stella rolled her eyes on me. And then she asked…
“Did you really fall in love with him?”
“I don’t know.”
“Well, you should know. You must.”
“I don’t know.”
“You told me you had flashbacks of Jazz while you’re ON it.”
“Yes, I did but I guess that doesn’t mean anything at all.”
“Well, there must be something. There’s something about him that’s reminding you of Jazz in any way. You wouldn’t have those flashbacks if there’s nothing, right?”
“We just kissed and then the flashbacks came.”
“Maybe he kisses the way Jazz do, or something.”
“It was just a kiss Stella!” I insisted… but to be honest, Stella’s words are starting to get into my head. What if she’s right?
“That’s the thing… it was JUST a kiss, but it reminded you of an important person from your past.”
“I don’t know. You see! I don’t even know how I’m going to see him or to even talk to him,”
“Well, maybe he left a note on your fridge’s door or something?”
“There’s nothing. I woke up this morning and he was gone already.”
“That bastard! He could’ve just left a note or something. Oh well. Boys will always be boys!”
I sighed. I guess I felt something special for Stephen. This echoed inside my head.
“Just move on. You’re young anyway. Let it be a learning experience for you.”
“What else can I do? I can’t do anything about it at all.”
And then there was silence. A moment after, we decided to leave and go separate ways. Stella has to get her puppy from the local pet clinic while I had to go to the gym for my daily exercise.
I went home and had to get my workout stuff.
Just as I rest my keys on top of the corner table near the door, I noticed a small paper with a note on it. It reads…
Hi sunshine,
I went home to change, but I didn’t wake you up since you were in a deep sleep. Thanks for last night. It was overwhelming. I’ll see you tonight for dinner.

Lots of love,
Stephen
Stephen
I froze for a moment. I read the note again and tried to absorb everything. How could I not notice this small note earlier before I left the pad to meet Stella? Maybe, I was too preoccupied that I wasn’t able to set eyes on the small note. It even had Stephen’s number right under his name.
…to be continued
