Heart of the Matter 1

DISCLAIMER: This story is purely fictional. Similar events, names or places that occur in the current time is simply unintentional. Thank you.

"You need to change. You look old in that suit." Blair said as she continued reading Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol. She was already in the climax of the story when her best bud, Jason, came out of the bathroom.

"You're not even looking!" Jason threw the towel on Blair. He was getting ready for his date with Elizabeth, his new found love interest.

"What the?" Blair shrieked. "You bastard! What was that for?" She threw back the towel to Jason. She stretched her body on that comfortable sofa in his bedroom and went back to her reading.

Jason and Blair had been best friends for a long time. In fact, they have been best friends since they were kids. Jason is Blair's next door neighbor. They have known each other very well that they treat each other as brother and sister.

Whenever one gets in trouble, the other comes to the rescue. But, most of the time, it's Blair who gets to rescue Jason from trouble.

There was a time when Jason had a trouble with a girl he was dating. To make things worse, the girl went to Jason's house and went scandalous. To save Jason from humiliation, Blair acted as Jason's wife and pretended that she's pregnant. She threatened to sue the girl for adultery if she'd come near them again. After that, the girl disappeared like nothing had happened.

Now, Jason is up for another date and Blair is not even sure if it's gonna work this time. She knows Jason so much, as much as he knows her. The only thing is, Jason doesn't know that she is deeply in love with him... and he must not know.

"Come on! Get serious!" Jason pleaded. He put his hand on Blair's shoulders. He stared at her like a little child asking for a candy. "You know what to do better. Please, help me out," he added.

"You never listen to me, so what's the fuss?" she looked at him, rolled her eyes, and went back to The Lost Symbol.

"If you don't want to help me, fine. Don't expect me to help you when you're in need," he turned his back and started walking  towards the bathroom.

"Fine. You look good on that, but get rid of the tie. You don't want to look like someone who's about to interview an applicant," Blair said and went back to hear reading.

"Thank you. That's what I need," he smiled and rushed to his closet.

Damn! I wished I didn't tell him what to do! I don't know what to do with my heart after this. Blair told herself silently.

...to be continued
